Festive Grace Celebrate the holiday season with Grace Beijing
Grace Beijing, the city’s newest boutique hotel, has announced its special menus and events to help celebrate the Christmas and New Year holiday season in style. Traditionally a time when people make a particular effort to experience fine food and friendly company, the hotel has designed a variety of dishes and bespoke menus for visitors to make a real occasion of the festivities this year.
Taking its inspiration from international cuisine yet influenced by local flavours and ingredients, the Yi House Restaurant team has devised a series of three set menus priced from CNY288 to CNY588 per person. The delicious dinners feature a minimum of four courses with the worldwide holiday favourite of turkey making a star appearance, along with herb-crusted lamb loin and venison with morel sauce. Fresh seafood also features, bringing together native Chinese delicacies with Australian oysters, Alaskan crab, and New Zealand scampi. Christmas chocolates and cookies offer a further seasonal twist in these celebration feasts. Everything is cooked with Head Chef Christian Hoffman’s flair for innovative presentation and exciting combinations.
The hotel is also offering new introductions for the festive period. The first is a ‘sparkling Christmas afternoon tea’: free-flowing tea and coffee with a lively glass of exclusive champagne. Accompanying this are home-made hotel treats including open and finger sandwiches, Christmas pastries, scones, truffles, cookies and celebration cakes of the season such as mini Christmas stollen. Available every afternoon in Bar 798 and priced at CNY428 for two people, it is a perfect daytime treat for anyone in search of sumptuous escape from the pre-Christmas rush.
Two very special events include: the 24th December Christmas Eve Dinner banquet (five courses, including welcome cocktail, for CNY888 per person) which features fresh seafood and shellfish, truffle tortellini, Atlantic cod or Australian beef, and special Christmas puddings; and the international New Year’s Eve Dinner on 31st December (CNY888 person, including welcome cocktail) with seafood, shellfish, foie gras, salmon, veal, seasonal desserts and cheeses. Reservation is required for these nights, which will be sure to make the occasion an extra-special one.
“This is our first Christmas season in China and we really want to show how much we can bring magic to any celebration, particularly at this time of year,” comments the hotel’s General Manager, Yves Godard. “Chef Hoffman has already gained a very loyal following in the Yi House Restaurant here at Grace Beijing and these menus will ensure any party, event or private celebration has that special touch. It is a time of year to celebrate, and Grace Beijing is giving an ideal opportunity to come with friends, family or colleagues to do just that.”
