MAYA and Matchali Launch Exclusive Japanese Tea Collection

MAYA, Hong Kong’s first artisanal vegan bakery & bar, renowned for its high-quality, plant-based offerings and cozy atmosphere, is excited to present a special collaboration with Matchali, Hong Kong’s first homegrown Japanese tea brand, known for its dedication to high-quality ingredients and authentic flavors.

At the heart of the Matchali Collection is the Hojicha Not Egg Tart (HK$25), which reimagines MAYA’s famous vegan Not Egg Tart by incorporating Matchali’s Japanese roasted Hojicha blend into its creamy filling. Each tart features a flaky, buttery crust that perfectly complements the velvety custard and rich black sugar mochi center, creating a harmonious blend of comforting and indulgent flavors.

Complementing the egg tarts are the gooey Matcha Cookies (HK$50) with chewy mochi filling. These cookies are perfect for those looking to satisfy their sweet cravings while enjoying the unique flavors and nutritional benefits of matcha.

Guests at MAYA will not want to miss the comforting Matcha Latte (Hot – $50; Iced – $55) and the aromatic Hojicha Latte (Hot – $50; Iced – $55). Each latte is meticulously prepared using Matchali’s ceremonial-grade Japanese tea powder blends, ensuring a luxurious and authentic flavor profile that pairs perfectly with the collection’s treats.

The Matchali Collection will be available at MAYA for one month from October 18th, with a special pop-up at the Matchali shop in Star Street Precinct every Friday and Saturday. This collaboration not only highlights the exquisite flavors of matcha but also reinforces MAYA’s commitment to bringing unique culinary experiences to the community.
