MAYA and NYC Plant-based Cook and Author Christine Wong Unveil New Buddha Bowl Collection

MAYA, Hong Kong’s pioneering artisanal vegan bakery, is excited to announce the launch of its newest menu offering, the wholesome Buddha Bowl collection. Available until November 17 at MAYA’s flagship store in Quarry Bay, the Vibrant Hong Kong Buddha Bowl (HK$108) is at the forefront of this collection, a unique collaboration with acclaimed NYC plant-based cook and author Christine Wong, who has recently unveiled her much-anticipated cookbook, The Vibrant Hong Kong Table. This groundbreaking work reinterprets 88 beloved Hong Kong staples into plant-based marvels. The partnership highlights MAYA’s commitment to veganism while showcasing a flair for culinary artistry.

The Buddha Bowl collection features three nourishing and dynamic offerings such as the Sweet Potato Chickpea Buddha Bowl (HK$108), a hearty bowl of quinoa with roasted sweet potatoes, protein-packed chickpeas, kale, avocado and juicy cherry tomatoes, the Kimchi Tofu Buddha Bowl (HK$108), a creative fusion of flavors and textures featuring grilled tofu, cabbage, mushroom, crisp cucumber, carrot ribbons and zesty kimchi, all resting on a fluffy bed of quinoa. The Vibrant Hong Kong Buddha Bowl (HK$108) is a visually stunning creation that is as colorful as it is delicious. This bowl incorporates roasted squash, kale, and protein-rich edamame. Topped with enoki mushroom tempura for a delightful crunch, while the pickled lotus root offers a vibrant pop of colour and unique tang; all drizzled with a fragrant black pepper dressing on a bed of rice.

To commemorate the launch of The Vibrant Hong Kong Table, MAYA will be hosting a book launch event on October 17 from 3 – 5 PM. This exclusive occasion will allow guests the opportunity to meet Christine in person and explore her culinary insights.
