FLORENCE FROM ABOVE
Situated in Fiesole overlooking Florence, Villa San Michele offers breathtaking views of the city from its terraced gardens. Originally a 15th-century monastery, it embodies the spirit of the Italian Renaissance, from its Michelangelo-attributed façade to its connection to Leonardo da Vinci’s early experiments with flight. Transitioning to a private villa in the 19th century, it became a favourite among travellers on the Grand Tour, who found inspiration in its classical art and architecture.
This rich history will guide the restoration, as architects and designers meticulously honour the Villa’s heritage while reimagining its interiors and gardens to captivate future generations.
