Wagyu Meets Waterfront: Shogun Burger Pops Up at Regent Hong Kong

From 21 to 27 May, Regent Hong Kong’s The Lobby Lounge is serving up a sizzling collaboration that’s set to steal the hearts of burger lovers across the city. Japan’s cult-favourite Shogun Burger is making its highly anticipated Hong Kong debut—and this is your chance to try their award-winning wagyu creations without hopping on a plane.

Known for breaking the internet (and winning major culinary titles), Shogun Burger uses only premium Japanese black wagyu—coarsely ground, never frozen, and smashed to juicy perfection on a hot iron plate. Every bite is rich, savoury, and wildly satisfying. It’s no surprise the brand took top honours at both the Japan Burger Championship 2022 and the World Food Championships 2023.

The pop-up menu features four signature burgers, each served with crispy French fries and a trio of indulgent house-made sauces: Basil, Spicy Wagyu Chili Cheese, and Pollock Roe Cheese. Prefer something lighter? You can swap the fries for a salad. And yes, dessert is included—choose from creamy scoops of ice cream or a gorgeous Matcha Sesame Tart. You’ll also get a drink, with Gwei-lo Pale Ale or a soft drink of your choice.

Here’s what’s on the grill:

• Cheese Burger – Wagyu beef, tomatoes, lettuce, and cheddar

• Double Cheese Burger – With double cheddar, for extra indulgence

• Teriyaki Burger – Wagyu, shiitake mushrooms, and that sweet-savoury glaze

• Chili Meat & Cheese Burger – For those who like a spicy kick

Adding star power to the experience, Shogun Burger founder Taiki Honda and head chef Atsuko Ohgiya will be there in person. Honda transformed his family’s yakiniku shop into one of Japan’s fastest-growing burger brands, while Ohgiya—twice a World Food Championships finalist—brings next-level flavour and flair to every dish.

Each burger set is HK$398 and includes your burger of choice, fries or salad, three dips, dessert, and a drink. Seating is limited daily, so if you’re a wagyu fan, don’t wait.
