A Three-Day Spanish Festival in the Heart of Hong Kong

This October, La Paloma is set to enchant discerning palates during the highly anticipated return of La Fiesta 2023. After a four year hiatus, this lively celebration is back and better than ever, coinciding with the National Day of Spain on 12 October. Organised by four entrepreneurs related to Spanish culture and trade in partnership with The Spanish Chamber of Commerce, and drawing inspiration from the vivacious traditions of Southern Spain, La Fiesta is a three-day festival from 13 to 15 October, unfolding its vibrant happenings within the covered courtyard and market areas of PMQ. Entrance to this Spanish Festival is free, inviting friends all over Hong Kong to participate in all of the exciting happenings.

Experience the Essence of Spain in Hong Kong

La Fiesta 2023 is not just an event – it’s an immersive journey into the heart and soul of Spain, right here in Hong Kong. The ambience mirrors the exuberant ferias of Andalusia, where families unite to celebrate Spain’s National Day in grand style. For one weekend, La Paloma will be collaborating with Los Ibericos, Esencia Flamenca, The Spanish Chamber of Commerce, and the Spanish School of Hong Kong, to bring the spirit of Spain to life.

Activities for All Ages

This year, La Fiesta boasts a rich tapestry of activities that transports all guests straight to the spirited streets of Andalusia. The event kicks off on 13 October with a captivating presentation and performance by Esencia Flamenca on the main stage, featuring special guest artists from Spain. Later in the evening, a Guitar Workshop at the library is set to enthral music enthusiasts.

Over the following days, on 14 and 15 October, activities abound. By the main entrance, a La Liga Spanish football league booth and kids play area will be set up, to keep the young ones occupied as the festivities take place. Spanish language games for kids, an artwork show, and a children’s flamenco show will engage and educate all age groups, immersing each attendee in the magic of Spain’s culture, with special prizes and surprises on offer. Additionally, a “Ham and Bubbles” cooking demonstration, beer competition, and mesmerising “Ronqueo” Bluefin Tuna cutting ceremony will keep the festivities going, concluding in a special lucky draw. A cosy area to sit down and relax will also be provided, for families to rejuvenate and connect with other festival attendees as the celebrations take place.

Culinary Delights and More

Throughout this festival, La Paloma will serve up its signature Spanish tapas, allowing all guests to immerse themselves in Spain’s rich culture and cuisine. Indulge in classics like the creamy Tortilla, bold Eggs with Chorizo, and savoury Meatballs, as well as traditional Spanish-style Tinned Seafood.

To complete the tasting experience, a diverse array of Spanish libations, Iberico hams, and cheeses curated in partnership with Los Ibericos will be available. From red and white wines to effervescent cava, Estrella Galicia beers, and the ever-popular gin & tonics, it’s an opportunity to embark on a journey through the diverse landscapes of Spanish beverages.

Visit La Fiesta from 13 to 15 October and be immersed in the vibrant culture and cuisine of Spain while savouring iconic Spanish delicacies. For more information about La Fiesta 2023, please visit the Spanish Chamber of Commerce’s website.
