Tung Chung welcomes the artisanal bakery with a rush of customers
Bakehouse by Grégoire Michaud has opened its first store in the New Territories at Citygate Outlets in Tung Chung. Today’s opening marks the artisanal bakery’s sixth location in Hong Kong, following the recent announcement of its plans to double its stores to 10 by the end of 2025. Known for European artisanal baked goods made with the finest quality of ingredients, the opening attracted over 100 enthusiastic guests before the store opened at 10:00am, all eager to indulge in Bakehouse’s famous Sourdough Egg Tarts, and three exclusive items available only at the Citygate Outlets location:
- Milk Tea Honey Toast Danish: A tribute to the much-loved Hong Kong-style milk tea, the danish is dipped into home-made honey butter, toasted until golden brown and crunchy, and filled with milk-tea infused cream.
- Tai O Umami Roll: Inspired by ingredients from Cantonese cuisine, this Danish pastry is packed with parmesan, scallions, hand-stir-fried shrimp roe from Yick Cheong Ho in Tai O, and finished with a sweet-soy glaze.
- Tiramisu Soft Serve: Mascarpone soft serve laced with ladyfingers soaked in Bakehouse’s signature Cold Brew, dusted with cocoa powder.
With a cozy outdoor dining area, Bakehouse Tung Chung is located at Shop G19, G/F, Citygate Outlets, 20 Tat Tung Rd, Tung Chung. Open daily from 08:00 to 21:00.
