DOM PÉRIGNON VINTAGE 2015 – UNWAVERING PRESENCE

PREFACE

Born from an exceptionally contrasted year, Dom Pérignon Vintage 2015 reveals an unwavering presence.

Somewhat dark at first, it proves tactile throughout the tasting, with a unique sense of touch.

The essential trace of Dom Pérignon, its inner truth, is the way it touches the mouth. The tactile sensation is the foundation of Dom Pérignon’s taste, allowing it to fully express its plenitude. If this touch were missing, the taste simply couldn’t unfold over the space and time of the tasting, which mirror the space and time of the wine’s elaboration.

The dense matter of Dom Pérignon Vintage 2015 anchors its natural authority. And over time, this authority progressively becomes horizontal, broad and rectilinear.

As if the year’s extreme weather and the dryness of the earth beneath the sun had imparted a sense of mystery. Tactile, its inner generosity is a reassuring caress as the ripe matter gradually opens with floral, spicy, herbal and fruit impressions.

Horizontal, broad and rectilinear – The full dimension then expresses itself, stretching across the horizon with vast breadth, framed by straight lines. This frame of natural authority has been revealed by unabated sunlight, which was responsible for moderate yields, limited grape size and a dense matter. Refined by nature, the formal geometry of matter comes to the fore. The mouthfeel is clear and consistent, full and delicate, long lasting. A generous breadth unfolds, where the flesh of the fruit rests on a chiseled bitter base, as if the structure of the wine had emerged from the bitterness.

PLÉNITUDE 2: ELEVATED WITH TIME

Dom Pérignon is always a vintage wine and can only be produced from the grapes of a single year.

For each vintage, a limited number of bottles are set aside in the cellars, predestined for longer maturation. With this extra time, the inner activity in the bottle increases. The yeast transfers its energy to the wine…a mysterious transfer of life.

After close to 15 years, expansion of energy reaches its peak and Dom Pérignon rises to an apex of essential, radiant vitality in its state of Plénitude. Elevated to new heights, it unfurls across every dimension – wider, deeper, longer, more intense – gifted further with an almost infinitely extended longevity.

PLÉNITUDE 2, DOM PÉRIGNON VINTAGE 2006 STREAMLINED

Now, after seven additional years of maturation, Dom Pérignon Vintage 2006 has reached its Plénitude 2, a new era in its expression.

Maturation time is essential for Dom Pérignon. It is organic, active, and energetic. Time prolongs all that nature has to offer by opening up a whole new space for the winemaker. For a given Dom Pérignon Vintage, it often brings an unpredicted, surprising and mysterious element, which complements it, and traces a new step in its harmony.

Vintage 2006 has the distinctive ability to become refined over time, to become more precise, to reach a higher elevation. In the seclusion of Dom Pérignon’s cellars, the working lees have brought it to its second Plénitude, a streamlined version of itself. The mouthfeel is marked by a more present saline tension. Bitterness has gained in subtleness and delicacy, bringing balance to the generosity with which 2006 was born.
