Artistic icon of her generation, singer-songwriter Dua Lipa is writing her next chapter with the House as
she becomes the face of the new CHANEL 25 handbag.
The campaign launches with a film by Gordon von Steiner. Inspired by the energy of music videos, the
Grammy-nominated director follows Dua Lipa for a day in New York, between the bustling streets of
Manhattan and a photo studio. With a joyful energy, Dua Lipa sets the pace as she sings along to the cult
track “She Drives Me Crazy” by the Fine Young Cannibals: “I love that song. It’s such an anthem from the
‘90s, and I’ve always loved that era, probably because that’s when I was born. I find it’s often a time I go
back to whether it’s fashion, music or film. I find it so inspiring. This song feels like the perfect match for
that freedom of expression and allowed me to dive into a fun, raw, rebellious emotion. New York really
lends itself to that sort of ‘stomp-your-feet’ energy.”
It’s a tailor-made role for an artist and role-model whose style and magnetism perfectly resonate with the
CHANEL 25. Heir to the House’s emblematic bags, this new design revisits the codes – quilting, interlaced
chain, multiple pockets – with a bold, functional approach. Available in three sizes, it adheres to the
everyday existence of women living life in the fast lane. Flexible, lightweight, ingenious, it combines
comfort and elegance with the ultimate sense of practicality.
Dua shares, “I’m obsessed with this bag. It’s the perfect kind of bag for me as someone who’s always on
the move and likes to carry around everything, especially because it’s got these great pockets for all my
favourite things. There’s a place for my books, a place for my sunglasses, maybe a notebook or two, and
even a place for my crystals. It’s just the perfect everyday bag!”
Dua continues, “For me, this campaign is about the freedom of movement, self-expression and embracing
that on-the-go energy. It’s powerful, yet playful, and above all, joyous. It’s a similar spirit that I share as an
artist, so it immediately resonated with me on many levels.”
The photographs taken by David Sims and the complete CHANEL 25 bag campaign will be unveiled in
March.
