Hyatt Hotels Corporation Announces Ratih Handayani as General Manager of Alila Manggis in Bali

Hyatt Hotels Corporation is pleased to welcome Ratih Handayani to the Hyatt family as the newly appointed General Manager of Alila Manggis in Bali, effective July 3, 2023.

Born and raised in the culturally significant city of Yogyakarta on Java island in Indonesia, Ratih brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her new role. Ratih has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and has held various executive positions within renowned establishments such as Amanjiwo in Borobudur, Indonesia; Bali Rani Hotel; Aman Resorts Indonesia in Bali; Bulgari Hotels & Resorts in Bali; Banyan Tree Ungasan (now Jumana Bali Ungasan Resort); Amanoi in Ninh Thuận province, Vietnam; and Amantaka in Luang Prabang, Laos. To complement her extensive practical experience, Ratih also pursued additional hospitality qualifications from Cornell University in New York.

In 2018, Ratih reached a significant milestone in her career as she assumed the role of General Manager for the first time at the Cabochon Hotel & Residence in Bangkok. Since 2020, she has served as an independent hospitality consultant, contributing her expertise to Triloka Architects in Bali, where she has been instrumental in advising on the concept and design of boutique villas and hotels in Indonesia.

Expressing her enthusiasm for her new role with Hyatt, Ratih says, “I plan to encourage more people to visit Alila Manggis, the pioneering gem of the Alila brand. With its peaceful location in the east of the island, the true Balinese experiences we offer, and the pure Balinese hospitality of our associates, I am confident our guests will have a memorable time while staying with us.”
