Loro Piana and Dimoremilano present La Prima Notte di Quiete

An immersive installation exploring the boundary between reality and cinematic fiction through thespaces of an elegant house

Loro Piana and Dimoremilano debut together for the first time at Milan Design Week 2025 with an engaging and immersive projectwhere the real and the plausible intertwine, creating a captivating experience inside Loro Piana’s Cortile della Seta courtyard, in the Maison’s Milan headquarters.

As visitors cross the threshold, they are transported to the foyer of a vintage cinema, complete with deep red velvet curtains, leopard-spotted carpeting, beautiful furniture, and brass appliqués. Here, guided by masks, guests prepare for the viewing of La Prima Notte diQuiete, an installation that reveals a fully-furnished Loro Piana house, decorated with exceptional furniture designed by Dimorestudio for Loro Piana Interiors; new and classic pieces from Dimoremilano upholstered with Loro Piana Interiors fabrics; items from the Loro Piana The Art of Good Living Collection, and antique pieces and art. The artworks on display are from Tornabuoni Art, Cardi Gallery, and Galleria Gracis e Secci Gallery.

Each room lights up, offering spectators a privileged view of the style and elegance of the details and materials.

Like in a film – conceived and directed by Dimorestudio – that overturns expectations, the cinematic twist of the installation transportsvisitors into another dimension. Fanning out between an entrance, dining room, living room, bedroom, bathroom, and garden, the Loro Piana house transforms into a muffled refuge, an intimate space that protects from the elements, noise, and external chaos.

The light softens, shadows stretch across surfaces, and materials envelop with their tactile density. The comforting feel of home comes tolife through familiar sounds: a phone ringing, a piano playing, the muffled patter of rain on the windows. A quiet is occasionally interrupted by the sounds and stimuli of the installation, creating a tension between silence and movement. The sound is curated by music composer and multimedia artist Nicola Guiducci. The tension between silence and movement also inspired the title La Prima Notte di Quiete, within an exploration of the boundary between reality and cinematic suggestion, which is the central theme of the entire project. The house embodies calm and silence, offering comfort and protection from noise and chaos, thus providing a first nightof tranquillity.

The plausibility is achieved by the perfect balance of the décor, where objects of various natures and origins coexist, as in homes where the sophisticated taste of the inhabitants is expressed through never-banal choices. Among these are the new furniture pieces conceived bythe design duo for Loro Piana Interiors.

Surrounded by the charm of an elegant and refined home, the new furnishings represent a further evolution of the Loro Piana Interiorscollections, introducing materials and finishes that have never been used before, such as metal and glass, which complement lacquered wood and walnut burl, while interacting beautifully with Loro Piana Interiors’ fabrics.

The installation is open to the public from Tuesday, April 8th to Sunday, April 13th, from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Via Della Moscova 33, Milan. Visitors must book the time of the show they wish to attend through the dedicated platform at https://booking.loropiana.com.
