lululemon invites all to “Find Your Wellbeing”

Two global Korean icons, JEON SOMI and Taeyang, open up to share candid stories about their wellbeing challenges and personal journeys to launch lululemon’s new “Find Your Wellbeing” campaign today, aiming to raise awareness for wellbeing and remove stigmas, social pressures and emotional challenges. The two internationally renowned stars will kick off a four-day event in Seoul, South Korea, on October 11. JEON SOMI and Taeyang will attend the “Find Your Wellbeing” event alongside lululemon’s top global and APAC leaders as well as a host of celebrities, athletes, field experts and brand ambassadors from around the region.

Korean Stars Reveal the Importance of Being Well

Gen Z artist JEON SOMI first shot to domestic stardom at age 14 after winning Mnet’s Produce 101 competition. In 2018, she focused on her personal career — launching with her debut solo album, XOXO, in 2021. Most recently, she released her EP, titled Game Plan, on August 7, 2023.

JEON SOMI spoke candidly about prioritising her mental health, “acknowledging all of my emotions is an important part of my wellbeing.” She explains: “When I’m in a good place, I try to live in the moment and feel every emotion that pops up. I find that having supportive people around me is my golden ticket to safeguard a healthy mind and body.” She was introduced to taekwondo by her Dutch-Canadian father, and has a 4th-degree black belt in Taekwondo. JEON SOMI equates the strength, balance and flexibility required for the martial art with her performance dancing, using body movement to express her moods and release emotions.

Regarded as one of the best vocalists in South Korea, Taeyang debuted in 2006 as the lead singer and main dancer of famed boy group, BigBang – revered as the “kings of K-pop.” Following releases of several albums and finding mainstream global success with BigBang, Taeyang launched his solo career in 2008 with his first EP, Hot; followed by his albums Rise (2014) and White Knight (2018). This year in April, he released his second EP, Down to Earth.

Taeyang said: “My wellbeing is driven by my mindset, spirituality and physical condition. You can’t reach perfection alone – it’s the result of a harmonious blend of different parts. In the end, if this sense of balance is disrupted, beauty also begins to crumble.” He cites having good relationships with the people around him, to create beautiful harmony together, as of utmost importance to him. Taeyang also has learnt to channel positive experiences into inspirations for his musical expressions – which can be as simple as going for a walk to help clear his mind and open new doors for creativity.
