Martell partners with Wynn for an exclusive launch event at Wynn Palace’s immersive destination Illuminarium from 16-19 October
To celebrate the launch of L’Or de Jean Martell – Réserve du Château, Maison Martell, in partnership with Macau’s Wynn Palace, will jointly present an exclusive event at the Illuminarium from 16-19 October. The unique immersive event, which includes the introduction of the first bottles to the Hong Kong market, will take guests on a spectacular sensory journey of creating the perfect cognac as they enjoy a six-course culinary masterpiece curated by Michelin-starred chefs: Wynn’s Chef Tam Kwok Fung and Forum Restaurant’s Chef Adam Wong.
Representing the culmination of a quest for excellence that began in 1715, L’Or de Jean Martell – Réserve du Château is an exceptional collection that pays homage to French art de vivre and the architectural treasures that have shaped the nation’s heritage over the centuries. Each year, Martell Cellar Master Christophe Valtaud will craft a new cognac inspired by a prestigious French château that will then be released in an extremely limited edition of individually numbered decanters.
A true masterpiece, L’Or de Jean Martell – Réserve du Château combines more than 1,400 eaux-de-vie from the four finest terroirs in the Cognac region and a meticulous selection of eaux-de-vie that evoke both the history of the chosen château and that of Martell. The complex blend – with each eaux-de-vie aged to its “golden age”, or point of aromatic plenitude – begins its ageing process in barrels of 300-year-old oak, first in a historic, dedicated cellar in Cognac and subsequently in a different château each year.
The Golden Age of Cognac
Released in 2024, the collection’s inaugural edition celebrates the Martell family’s historic Château de Chanteloup in the heart of Borderies. The smallest of the Cognac region’s six crus has been the house’s signature terroir since its founding by Jean Martell in 1715, the same year that saw the death of Louis XIV, the Sun King, and a period considered the golden age of French art de vivre, epitomised through its dazzling and often gilded châteaux.
This debut blend presents an elegant aroma of floral notes and red fruit layered with earth and rancio as well as fragrant notes of sandalwood and cedar. Robust, fresh flowers greet the palate, preceding spices and hints of currant that evolve to reveal unique woody notes with an incomparable aromatic explosion and a long finish in the mouth.
This luxurious expression is presented in a bespoke Baccarat crystal decanter – a collaboration between Martell and the iconic alchemist of joy, Maison Baccarat, designed to evoke a single, pure drop of cognac, culminating in a neck embellished in 19-carat gold. The uniquely elegant creation, which perfectly captures the cognac’s richness and refinement, is contained within a beautifully crafted ornamental wooden display box. Limited to just 1,000 individually numbered decanters per year, L’Or de Jean Martell – Réserve du Château promises an unparalleled sensory journey.
Exclusive Promotion with Michelin 3-Star Forum Restaurant
In celebration of the launch, Martell is thrilled to announce a special promotion in collaboration with Michelin 3-Star Forum Restaurant in Hong Kong. From 21 October to 17 November, Chef Adam Wong will create an exquisite Braised Ah Yat Abalone with Goose Web in Hot Pot, perfectly paired with two glasses of Martell XXO, for only HKD $1,880 (excluding 10% service charge).
