The countdown to the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 has officially begun. As the Official Timekeeper, OMEGA marked the occasion with a “One Year To Go” celebration in Milan, unveiling a stunning Countdown Clock in Piazza del Duomo.
Designed like a snow globe, the clock features a unique airflow system that creates a continuous snowfall effect around the competition logo, with digital displays tracking the seconds until the Opening Ceremonies—February 6th, 2026, for the Olympic Games, and March 6th, 2026, for the Paralympic Games.
OMEGA President & CEO Raynald Aeschlimann joined IOC President Thomas Bach, OMEGA Timing CEO Alain Zobrist, and Milano Cortina 2026 Foundation President Giovanni Malagò for the unveiling.
Raynald Aeschlimann: “The anticipation is building, and we are proud to be there to time every historic moment.”
Thomas Bach: “With OMEGA’s precision and integrity, the world can trust in every result.”
Alain Zobrist: “We look forward to capturing the full story of each event in Milano Cortina.”
Giovanni Malagò: “Starting the OMEGA countdown is an emotional milestone—Italy is ready to welcome the world.”
As the Official Timekeeper since 1932, OMEGA continues to push the boundaries of sports timing, ensuring every fraction of a second counts.
