Perched on the 39M level of the newly reopened Dusit Thani Bangkok, 1970 Bar invites guests on a journey back to the golden age of retro elegance. Designed by renowned interior architect André Fu, this sophisticated destination lounge is an ode to the year the original Dusit Thani Bangkok was built, seamlessly blending vintage charm with contemporary refinement.
From the sage green entrance, guests step into a cocooning space where bold accents and fine details create a striking canvas for creative cocktails and seasonal bites. The venue reimagines the electric spirit of the 1970s across three exquisitely curated spaces:
- The Salon – An intimate boudoir featuring vintage-inspired furniture and a painterly mural backdrop.
- The Library – A collection of artisanal objects and lifestyle books displayed through a bronze portal.
- The Bar Boudoir – A dynamic cocktail bar framed by an undulating bronze liquor shelf.
The atmosphere evokes the feel of a cosmopolitan penthouse, imagined as the home of a worldly and sophisticated hostess—an ideal setting for convivial gatherings. Disco beats, nostalgic aesthetics, and a rich color palette of dusty pink, sage green, warm oak, and bronze bring the era’s glamour to life, while rattan paneling and eclectic curiosities add texture and intrigue.
“To me, 1970 Bar evokes the spirit of a tropical boudoir set in Bangkok’s skyline,” says André Fu. “It re-tells the story of the hotel’s origin with a modern twist.”

🎬 Dark Victory – A bold tequila creation honoring Ronald Reagan’s dual careers in Hollywood and politics, featuring Don Julio Blanco tequila, papaya, mandarin, and pink peppercorn.
